Is Economy or Business Class the Best Way for You to Transport Your Car?

by Tom Kearns

Life today is becoming more and more expensive. We, the people, with our increasingly technologically driven society, demand more luxury and just plain more stuff than ever. More people everyday are moving into a higher standard of living and our society encourages this, even though it demands more money to sustain.

The two-car family is standard in modern times. Both parents certainly have a car and the teenagers in the family probably do too, or at least share one. These are the families that also have a mobile life style, moving to a new residence at least once a decade. This movement may require either driving or shipping the vehicles over long distances.

Even one car can be prohibitively expensive or too stressful to be driven by a single driver. The cost of fuel can easily amount to more than $20 per 100 miles. Should you have two cars and are driving say 500 miles, that fuel cost will be at least $1000. If you have more cars to relocate...well, you get the picture. Also to consider is the cost of wear and tear on the vehicles and the food and/or lodging that must be purchased along the way. Suddenly the auto shipping industry seems like a godsend.

The inability to relocate may cramp your lifestyle. The fairly new auto shipping industry will not only save you money and personal stress, but will help you to fulfill your dreams. Relocating for a better position may have to be set aside if you can't relocate those vehicles because of either the distance or the terrain.

Without the modern move to a global economy with international business being the norm, the auto industry may never have developed as quickly and successfully as it did. This international mobility makes many things possible today that would have been done rarely, if ever, in the not too distant past. The sensible way to move vehicles is now by taking advantage of this industry which includes many reliable, secure, and economical carrier companies. There are things to consider when choosing a company to lift you to greater heights in your new life at your new location.

The more economic way to ship your car is to allow for plenty of time. If the company are allowed to ship your vehicle only when they receive enough orders to fill a truck, the price will be significantly lower than if you insist on immediate shipping.

Next is whether to choose an open or closed container carrier. Open carriers cost less, but the cars are exposed to inclement weather or accidental damage.

Unless you are in financial strain and have no choice but to risk an open carrier, and if you want to make sure you do not begin that next great stage in your life by towing your car to the nearest mechanics, you want to prefer closed container shipping. New technologies are even now being introduced into the industry: shipping containers and safety measures in most good companies are not what they used to be ten or twenty years ago. But it is best to specify that you want the newest Trans-Rack containers to be used to ensure the best delivery.
